A Brief History
Faiz-e-Raza Academy (previously known as “Madrasah Faiz-e-Raza”) started off in a small rented residence in the Spinney Hill area of Leicester with approximately 5 students and 1 teacher with the hope of moving to a permanent location in the future.
In 2011 we ended up moving to another rented albeit larger place in the same area which was being used as a “Sound and Vision Factory”. Having assessed the situation of the local environment, we expanded our ambitions and changed the ethos of the Madrasah to make it more relevant to the youth of today whilst maintaining the fundamentals of Islamic education and spirituality.
The breakthrough came when we found a building previously used as a church in the Humberstone area in Leicester. Realising there was a need for a Masjid and Madrasah in this part of the city we decided to act swiftly and by the Grace of Almighty Allah managed to purchase our current building at a cost of £275,000.
Today, Alhamdulilah we are proud to say Faiz-e-Raza Academy has been running successfully at its current location since 2014.
